Ingredients:

  • 2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup of chopped celery
  • 1 cup of chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup of chopped carrots
  • 2 cans tomato sauce (8 oz)
  • 2 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of pepper
  • 4 cans of chicken broth (14 oz)
  • 1 cup of dry sherry
  • 2 cans of beef broth (10 oz)
  • 1/2 cup of soy sauce
  • 1 lb frozen spinach (chopped, thawed and drained)
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • 48 wonton wrappers

Instructions:

  1. Use a large saucepan to mix the ingredients. Add ground pork, shallots, carrots, celery, salt, pepper and garlic powder. All ingredients are mixed thoroughly in a saucepan.
  2. Turn on medium heat, heat pork in skillet until lightly browned.
  3. Add sugar, ketchup, sherry, soy sauce, beef, chicken and beef broth.
  4. All ingredients are boiled
  5. Put in the spinach and wrappers
  6. Then cook for three minutes, or until the dumpling skin looks perfectly cooked.

Tips for Cooking Subgum Wonton Soup

  1. If you want to enjoy Subgum Wonton Soup but are in a hurry, then you can use the instant pot!
  2. Use homemade dumpling packets instead of store-bought ones. Making your own packs is more flavorful and inexpensive.
  3. Add a little chicken broth to the water if it wasn’t enough beforehand, this is to prevent the noodles from getting too hard when finished cooking.
  4. Dumplings should be small enough when adding them to the soup, this will prevent your dumplings from getting soggy.

The correct storage method is in an airtight container, use a freezer safe container if you want to freeze it.
