Negroni Cocktail History
This is a cocktail drink from several ingredients that tastes bitter but refreshing. It is said that the Negroni was discovered in Florence by an Italian Prince named Count Camillo Negroni, at the beginning of the 20th century. One time he was at the Casoni bar in Florence, asking a bartender to make his favorite cocktail, the Americano, with a stronger taste. So he replaced the soda usually used with Gin. To make the drink taste more different, the bartender also uses orange peel instead of the lemon peel that is usually used.
The story of the origin of the Negroni is a version that is famous and accepted by many groups and is even immortalized in “Sulle Tracce del Conte: La Vera Storia del Cocktail Negroni,” written by Lucca Picchi, the head bartender at Caffe Rivoire in Florence, Italy, and the writing was then translated into “In the Footsteps of the Count: The True Story of the Negroni Cocktail.” Eventually, the Negroni became a drink that was quite famous all over the world. It ranks alongside the Martini and Manhattan in the pantheon of classics.
Only a few drinks have been experimented with in many ways to produce various variations. The Negroni is one of them that has brought its ferocity to the world of cocktails. You can change the negroni in various ways. The type of vermouth used can have an impact on the results. Try choosing something more bitter, herbal, dry, or floral and you will see the difference. Just try experimenting with different bitter liquors as some bartenders do. But Campari liqueur is a type that almost all bartenders don’t forget to use.
The way to mix the classic version of the Negroni perfectly is to choose the right base ingredients. The right mix of gin-vermouth complementing, bitter Campari flavors is the key to a great Negroni drink. If you have found a great three-ingredient mixture, then write it down and memorize it, and occasionally come to the bar and ask for it to be made for you. They will be amazed, respect you, and make your choice something worth considering.
