Here, I will share the recipe with all of you. This Vietnamese rice recipe is suitable to try at any time. If you like it, you should provide some ingredients in the refrigerator, always have the ingredients in the refrigerator so that whenever you like, you can immediately make it yourself.

Prepare Chinese sausage (lap cheong)

Chinese sausage is a must-have ingredient in Vietnamese fried rice recipes. Usually, Chinese sausage is available in two versions, savory and spicy. Chinese sausages are usually made from pork or lard. However, you can choose a non-pork version such as one that uses chicken. Meanwhile, the spicy version of the sausage is made from chilies.

Vietnamese Fried Rice has a unique and pleasant taste. You can find materials such as Chinese chickpeas in grocery stores. If you live close to an Asian grocery store, you can usually find it there. But if you live far from Asian grocery stores, then you can easily buy it in online stores. This ingredient should not be skipped because it will give a delicious and unique taste.

Ingredients:

Most of the ingredients you use will already be in your freezer. In this recipe, we use shrimp, you can swap it for chicken, or pork. If you use frozen shrimp, thaw them first and this will take you around 15 minutes extra time to thaw.

Vietnamese Fried Rice Ingredients

Frozen mixed vegetables are also great to add to Vietnamese fried rice. You can buy mixed vegetables that contain corn, peas, carrots, and several brands of mixed vegetables that also contain green beans.

Chicken powder and ground white pepper are spices that you definitely have in your kitchen. Chicken powder can add a little yellow color, if you don’t have ground white pepper you can use black pepper. If you use black pepper, then adjust the taste according to taste because it is impossible to follow the rules. Black pepper is different from white pepper in that it has an earthier taste. So, add black pepper according to your preference and do not add according to the amount of ground white pepper.

Using cold rice vs freshly cooked rice

The best rice for making Vietnamese Fried Rice is rice that has been left out for a day because it will be drier so it is delicious when fried. Meanwhile, when rice is just cooked, it will usually be soft and this will give a watery texture and be less enjoyable to enjoy as fried rice. We do not recommend using hot or freshly cooked rice.

Alternative if you don’t have leftover rice. You can cook rice as usual, but then cool it by removing it from the rice cooker, cooling it under a fan so that the rice is cold and not hot.
