Iron Butterfly Cocktail

Are you a coffee lover who likes cocktails? There is one type of cocktail with coffee flavor, this is the Iron Butterfly Cocktail, suitable for you coffee lovers. Using only 3 ingredients, this is the perfect drink to enjoy after dinner.

What is an Iron Butterfly Cocktail?

Iron Butterfly Cocktail is a drink made with the same combination of Kahlua, vodka, and Irish cream. The result is a drink with a strong bite from the vodka on the front end which is mixed quickly and smoothly to produce a creamy vanilla coffee.

At first glance, this cocktail drink is similar to a white Russian, but it uses Bailey’s Irish cream instead of heavy cream. Apart from this cocktail, a mudslide cocktail contains heavy cream and Baileys, combined with vodka and Kahlua. Kahlua is a liqueur with a strong coffee taste and is quite sweet. It provides a deep brown color and brings out the sweet taste of coffee.

Bailey’s Irish cream provides a creamy and sweet taste in the Iron Butterfly Cocktail. It is made from cream, sugar, and Irish whiskey, and has the aroma of vanilla and chocolate. All the ingredients in making the Iron Butterfly Cocktail contain alcohol, of the three ingredients, vodka is the strongest. But it is light in taste and somewhat neutral in tone with a slight bite.

When to Make This Drink

This cocktail has a sweet and rich taste. So, the most suitable presentation is at the following times.

Iron Butterfly Cocktail Variations:

There are not many ways to change this drink, it only uses three ingredients so it is difficult to vary it more. However, there are several ideas for presenting other variations of this cocktail drink.

1. Use a flavored vodka

Double the coffee flavor and use coffee-flavored vodka, or you can add a little extra sweetener, also use vanilla-flavored vodka or whipped cream.

2. Substitute the Kahlua

Kahlua is a coffee-flavored liqueur that is quite popular these days. However, there is another drink that you can use to replace it, this is Tia Maria, the best substitute for Kahlua.

3. Shake it up

The basic recipe for the Iron Butterfly Cocktail is to use it in layers in a glass. But you can serve it by shaking it. The method is to add the ingredients in a shaker dan then shake vigorously, and serve.
